The arm bar is one of the many joint locks used in mixed martial arts. This joint lock is performed by placing your legs across the opponent’s chest, with one of their arms between your thighs and with the elbow joint against your hips. Taking hold of their arm you then simply lean back and arch your hips at the same time. This creates enormous pressure in the elbow joint and forces the submission from your opponent. There are obviously many different positions the arm bar can be applied from and this instructional video is just one of them. It is another basic move that any MMA fighter should have in their arsenal.
